Zoo was opened May 1, 1939 It was founded by Dr. Adolf Schwarzenberg and his wife. This same year the garden has received over 33 thousand visitors. Ohrada Zoo specializes mainly in animals that live in Europe, but also owns several pieces of more exotic animals. This zoo is one of favourite in Czech republic.
The zoo offers a tour of the zoo animals – many birds, reptiles, mammals and fish. Zoo has about 300 species. Particular attention is given to endangered species. Of the animals that live in the Czech Republic and in the countryside, you will find for example, lizard, squirrel, mallard, Blackbird or otter. From exotic animals you can see Fronted Caiman, Red-necked wallaby, gazela Dama or Siberian Tiger.
In the zoo are, of course, prominently displayed a clear maps so that you are well oriented.

If you have a dog, you will not have to leave home. Dogs are not allowed in Ohrada zoo.
If you are interested in animal feeding, you can participate in the commented feeding of individual species, which always takes place at a certain time. If you want to feed a animal yourself, you can do so in our “petting zoo”. There are for example your cute goats which you can feed and cuddle. For this feeding is positioned at the money slot machine that launches after paying a certain amount of food for the animal.
Zoo hosts special events for schools, for example, organizes and participates in a number of important projects for the protection and reproduction of animals.
For children in the zoo is also a children’s playground.
